Peter Teichmann has released an "experimental" version of Linux 2.4.27 for the Castle XScale powered Iyonix. This port builds upon patches previously released by the Iyonix Linux project.
According to Peter, "The kernel is compiled with DMA support, which will speedup some operations including harddisk access. According to Peter Naulls, there can be problems with some harddisks, but not with the Maxtors supplied with the Iyonixes."
An experimental version of Linux 2.6.11 for StrongARM RiscPCs is also available from Peter Teichmann.
