"If the RISC OS market is dead we would not want to be around when it was alive": Microdigital comment on Omega anticipation By Chris Williams. Published: 16th Nov 11:49:24 | Permalink | Printable Recently on their website, Microdigital published a progress report on their soon to be released, and quite frankly stunning, Omega machine.
Quoting from the site:
As those of you who have been trying to contact us by telephone for the past fifteen days will know the reponse to the Omega announcement can only be described as fantastic. The only comment we would make is "If the RISC OS market is dead we would not want to be around when it was alive."
Seriously, the response has been amazing with people contacting us from around the world NSEW. What is really interestingly is the fact that we are being contacted by many old users and developers who had gone over to the PC platform, and these are saying that they are now coming back to the fold, which is great for the market.
To meet demand we are having talks with two UK companies about manufacturing motherboards for both the home and overseas markets.
To meet demand in Europe we are close to making a decision on setting up an assembly plant in either Holland or Germany to be competitive against local PC pricing.
