Photodesk sources staying putBy Chris Williams. Published: 19th Jun 2004, 19:21:38 | Permalink | Printable
CJE sells what PD codesYesterday, we reported that CJE had absorbed Photodesk Ltd's product range, although a source close to Photodesk has today told us that application development will still be done by Photodesk's programmers.
"Firstly, Photodesk the company still exists and retains control of the products. The programmers still do their work for Photodesk, I think that applies to everyone," the source informed us, who (in response to other comments online) also argued that Photodesk's show attendance has been pretty good, up until last year.
He continued: "What has changed is that Photodesk will no longer supply the products to anyone except CJE. This exclusivity will hopefully allow CJE to better market the products though that is obviously down to them. The current product range is, as far as I know, still supported. Certainly, maintenance releases of at least Photodesk and OHP are due in the not too distant future (but Phorodesk Ltd policy is not to preannounce, cock-ups excepted)."
