Auto-built libraries from riscos.infoBy Chris Williams. Published: 15th Sep 2004, 13:46:52 | Permalink | Printable
A helping handVarious ported software libraries are available now from riscos.info.
Although some of the offered libraries are already available elsewhere for RISC OS, (for example, libpng and libjpeg are included in the Select IFC graphics system), the riscos.info libraries are 'auto-built' from the latest available versions. They also include various X11 related libraries.
"I currently have about 40 libraries, although not all have been successfully packed up at this stage. This list will grow in future as libraries are added, and build systems improved", said riscos.info's Peter Naulls, a drobe.co.uk editor.
"If there's a library you would like added, ideally it should already cross compile with GCCSDK using my porting tools, but I may be able to do this if you are unable."
Software libraries are typically useful packages of code that perform a specific purpose (such as compressing and uncompressing files) and are usually required by larger software.
