Stuart Tyrrell Developments have announced the final list of winners in their Christmas prize draw, revealing that James Scholes bagged a free UniPod after previously winning a free Iyonix, DigiFlash and RISC OS 3 keyring. Conspiracy theorists, start your karma.
Prize draw winners are urged to keep their end of the bargain by donating a suitable amount of cash to a chosen charity, and given recent events, the choice is hardly difficult. STD's Stuart Tyrrell adds: "Even if you didn't win, please consider how lucky you really are." STD hope to raise over 500 quid this year for various causes.
GCC 3.4.4
The GCCSDK team have uploaded the first release of a new version of GCC for RISC OS, and recommend that developers use it for production class code. Version 3.4.4 is based on a pre-release of an upstream 3.4.4, which includes an updated C++ library and speed improvements. Other major updates include Linux and glibc compatibility improvements, improved select() and /dev/dsp implementation, and various bug fixes.
Discknight update
Version 1.46 of hard disc repair wonder Discknight is now available for registered users to download. This new release allows users to specify the size of their hard disc in megabytes or gigabytes, rather than in just tracks, heads and sectors.
Historical datasheets
For any one interested, other than the emulator developers, there's a collection of early Acorn era documents online here - covering the first ARM, MEMC, IOC and VIDC chips.
