Data analysing utility enters beta tesing: Equations editted and comments wanted

By Chris Williams. Published: 16th Dec 14:40:22 | Permalink | Printable

Paul.F Johnson has recently announced details of the development of Linear Regression 2, a fully featured data analysis application.

"My original LinReg application was nice. However, it had a few problems..a case of needing something quick and simple" comments Paul on the LinReg wesbite. LinReg 2 is claimed to be a total rewrite and, although the mathematical application is in beta testing, Paul has already introduced the following impressive features:

  • Full data editor, with CVS export
  • Full equation editor with trigonmetric fuctions and indices supported
  • Data analysis and error commentry (including what Paul described to me as 'bestest of the best line of fit'). Standard deviation, gradient, intercepts and standard regression all get a mention

Author Paul, (who, according to the IRC #riscos member list, knows many mindnumbing math problems), intends to release LinReg2 this January and is currently waiting for comments and feature requests for the utility. The LinReg website also includes some detailed screenshots and more infomation for the mathematically minded.
