RiscCAD version 9 releasedBy Chris Williams. Published: 1st Jun 2005, 15:30:25 | Permalink | Printable
Affordable engineeringRiscCAD version 9 is now officially available, after briefly going on sale at last month's Wakefield show. The 2D design software returned to life after author David Buck returned to RISC OS scene late last year.
The package now supports up to 8 views per drawing, with automatic switching between windows using the mouse pointer. There's also "on-the-fly" snapping, with a secondary cursor to show where the snap point will be; isometric and oblique grids with configurable grid angle; ability to search for text in a drawing; improved and faster pattern filling and various other updates.
The software is also now, according to David, compatible with Richard Halls' SpecialFX application, so that lines are now drawn to the screen with smoother anti-aliasing.
