riscos.org.uk enhanced with HTTP redirection By Chris Williams. Published: 6th Jan 11:58:23 | Permalink | Printable Last night, the launchpad recieved the following email from Michael Stubbs, maintainer of the riscos.org.uk domain, regarding a new enhancement for his website forwarding service. If you are a software developer or a user group, Michael is willing to offer you www.your_application.riscos.org.uk for your software.
"HTTP redirection is now available for all existing and future
riscos.org.uk domains. This is in addition to the frames forwarding. You
should choose which you would like when requesting a domain.
"With frame forwarding your chosen riscos.org.uk domain stays in the
location bar, unless you use TARGET="_TOP" or similar, which gets you
out of the frames.
"With HTTP forwarding, people type in www.yourchoice.riscos.org.uk and
are bounced to the existing address. There are no frames. The
riscos.org.uk address is replaced with your old, existing one. The
benefits of this are somewhat elusive.
"If you already have a domain and want to keep with the frames, there is
no need to contact me."
As always, the list of domains taken is at www.riscos.org.uk
