Iyonix USB mice and keyboard drivers updated

HID and ROS 5.10 learn to play together

USB 3D logoXample have released an update to their HID software, so that it works with RISC OS 5.10. The software, which provides support for USB mice, keyboards and other gadgets for Iyonix users, would previously prevent the computer from shutting down properly.

Castle and friends are still working on the finishing touches for RISC OS 5.10, which is currently being tested by Iyonix users. The recent USB updates have also been packaged into a "formal release" for general use.

HID is shareware, and was first released in February 2004.

Great news, just so long as it did not drag Paul away from Impression X.....

Just one slightly negative point, on my machine, it (the ROS 5.10/latest HID) stops Linux from loading - I just get a blank screen needing a rest. Probably not many not many !HID+Iyonix Linux users though.

You can fix that by adding "RMKill USBHID" as the first line of the !Run file for !dRun of ARMLinux.

Both of RISC OS 5 and USB are fine products and I'm glad to see the two are still being kept up to date and working happily together.

Hopefully the Linux issue will also be sorted out properly in due course.

!HID has always prevented Linux from loading. There's no change here. It's to do with HID interfering with the RISC OS shutdown sequence.

Nice that new HID versions are now presented by IYONIX Update Watcher since more often than not a new USB driver needs an update of HID.

In reply to flypig: Excellent, thanks for that David - works fine. In reply to mrchocky: Well it didn't on mine, up to and including v0.34.
