Companies flock to Christmas road show By Chris Williams. Published: 28th Nov 2005, 13:02:08 | Permalink | PrintableBut no tour bus or groupies in sight Next month's RISC OS road show has moved up a gear, now that a healthy list of dealers and developers attending has been confirmed. Over a dozen companies regularly seen at larger shows have signed up for the ambitious plan to exhibit at three intimate venues around England. The Manchester location currently looks to be the hottest, pulling the concentration of RISC OS activity away from the south of the UK.
RISCOS Ltd. boss Paul Middleton, who masterminded the event at the end of October, said, "The RISC ,OS Christmas Roadshow is reviving the old Acorn spirit with a trip round the country, without a double decker bus. This will be your chance to get those last minute presents and bargains just a week before Christmas."
Below is a table of attendance per company; green is for yes, red is for no.
RISCOS Ltd. hope to use the road show to extend their userbase of 500 Adjust users and 6400 RISC OS 4 users. AdvantageSix will be bringing along varients in the A9 range. Archive are planning to add more booklets to their recently announced range of titles. Icon will be selling ArtWorks for MW Software at the London event. Other exhibitors will be bringing along their usual products and hopefully some Christmas special offers.
The road show will begin on Thursday 15th December at the West Bromwich Albion Football Club, near Birmingham, West Midlands, with doors open between 4pm and 8pm. The gang then move to the Brittania Hotel Stockport, near Manchester, Chesire, from 4pm to 8pm. Then those remaining will roll into Best Western Cumberland Hotel, near London, Middlesex, with doors open between 11am and 3pm.
