RISCOS Ltd. announce a new coding competition and details for the RISC OS South West ShowPublished: 13th Jan 00:48:15 | Permalink | Printable
During an uncharacteristic flurry of Press Releases from RISCOS Ltd., we received news from the company's Managing Director, Paul Middleton, of what to look forward to at the forthcoming RISC OS South West Show.
The show, which takes place near Weston Super Mare on Saturday 10th February 2001, will be held at a local hotel and will be attended by some of the most influential companies in the RISC OS market.
RISCOS Ltd. will be hosting a special area where users will have a unique opportunity to bring along their own machines to show off their skills. If you have an unusual application for your machine or perhaps a computer you have customised yourself, you can bring it along as an exhibit.
Whilst User Groups around the country have meetings where users can take their machines along, this will be the first time that there will be an opportunity to show your machine off to a nationwide audience.
Secondly, RISCOS Ltd are staging a coding competition which will be judged at the Wakefield Show in May. The aim is to encourage new programmers and to produce some new demonstrations to show off RISC OS machines to the full. The present photographic slideshows are becoming a little dated.
A few rules apply such as a minimum length of 5 minutes and the compulsory use of CD-quality sound. Prizes from the major RISC OS hardware developers will be donated, so everybody at Drobe wishes you Good Luck!
Lastly, for just £5 you will be able to take a table in the RISC OS Ltd. car boot sale area. A perfect opportunity to get rid of those unwanted items!
Drobe will be covering the RISC OS South West and Wakefield Shows in detail but for now, please visit their websites for more information.
