Ovation Pro gets Dutch translation Published: 27th May 2006, 21:08:12 | Permalink | PrintableSounds boing boing groovy nice An A9home beta tester has translated a popular DTP package to Dutch in an effort to promote the platform. Frank Vandekerkhove spent months producing translated documentation and a user interface in Dutch for Ovation Pro - all in time for the June roadshow, which is held on the European mainland.
Frank said: "Especially for newcomers to Ovation Pro, I considered it important to translate the tutorial and I will have a colour printed version of it at the show. Of course this, and other things, have cost me money."
His work will be on sale at the event, in CD-ROM and printed form, but is available for free from the Ovation Pro website if you type "Ovation Pro + free Dutch translation & Tutorial" into the 'Optional extra information' field when ordering a copy or upgrade of the DTP package.
The RISCOS.be usergroup member added: "If we want to continue to promote RISC OS and all its products to the world, then we must put some energy [into making] multi-language programs. Since Ovation Pro is only available in English and German, I took on the challenge of translating it into Dutch.
"In fact this was a big job but after some months of work I am proud to release the first version. The RISC OS Road Show 2006 on the 17th June in Nieuwegein near Utrecht in the Netherlands looks the ideal moment to release this Dutch version of Ovation Pro into the world."
