RiscPC prototype kit in auctionPublished: 29th May 2006, 22:49:58 | Permalink | Printable
StrongARM cards and old Acorn employee gearA set of Acorn RiscPC prototype components have surfaced in an ebay action this week. In amongst the x86 PC cards, books and other RiscPC brick-a-brack, are three prototype StrongARM cards, and an unpainted prototype RiscPC case.
The job lot can only be collected from the seller, or delivered to the Cambridge or Slough area. With 20 hours to go until the auction deadline, the highest bid so far is just 20 quid with no reserve price set.
The trader, an ex-Acorn employee, said: "These are RiscPC spares and some prototype items from my Acorn days. They are being sold as a job lot to clear out space as I do not have time to sell separately.
"The prototype StrongARM cards are untested but a nice bit of history."
Also, for the die-hard fans of the green nut, the ex-Acorn staffer is flogging polo shirts worn exclusively by company employees, including a 'power of individual thought' top.
