Smooth track playing with DataPlayer update

By Chris Williams. Published: 15th Jan 19:53:23 | Permalink | Printable

John Duffell has recently updated his sample player, DataPlayer, so that files queued up in the playlist run from one to another without interruption. This caching system allows albums like Radiohead's Kid A to be listened to as one long track.

DataPlayer is designed to be a fast and reliable player for 16 bit linear stereo (CD-style) samples. Applications like AudioFS2 can be used to convert CD tracks into samples for DataPlayer to play. One of the main aims behind DataPlayer is to provide CD quality music to the lesser powerful RISC OS machines.
