Earlier today, while browsing through the RISC OS demo coding site Icebird.org, I stumbled upon a project started from a discussion on gaming site AcornArcade. The project, which involves some fairly big names like Nathan Atkinson and Chris Bazley from VOTI and Richard and Tim from Iconbar.com, has the omnious title "Coder's Cauldron". It's aim is to provide resources to enable 3D games to be developed more easily for RISC OS. Chris and Nathan themselves played a part in the development of Starfighter 3000, a recently re-released 3D combat game.
The site is still in it's infancy and due to the nature of the project, it may be a while before the project members are ready to release their work. For many programmers, game designers and players, the project will be followed with great interest. Nathan, project co-ordinator, is currently on the look out for further members.
