Artex and VOTI join to produce open network gaming solutionBy Chris Williams. Published: 26th Jan 21:42:45 | Permalink | Printable
This evening, Jan Klose of RISC OS games company, Artex, announced their joint intentions with fellow games group, VOTI, to provide future RISC OS games with networking facilities.
In an email from Artex, Jan reveals:
"Artex have started working together with Visions of the Impossible concerning network gaming. The aim is a network system that works for TEK as well as for future VOTI and Artex games."
Coder's Cauldron programmer Lee Johnston has also commented on the development saying, "features include a simplified API compared to raw sockets with specific support for client-server gaming architectures". Well, you can't get more technical than that.
"The system, if working well, might also be offered to other RISC OS games producers in the future", Jan continues.
