acornuser.com face lift: Drobe talks to new webmaster Michael Stubbs

Last night, Drobe was happy to be informed that acornuser.com, the official website of Acornuser magazine, has been redesigned. Acornuser is an established RISC OS magazine and published by Tau Press.

"This is the third redesign in recent months but this one's here to stay!" Webmaster Michael Stubbs announced. "The purpose of first redesign was to simply bring the site up to date. The second was a cosmetic improvement and now this is the long-awaited, swish and sleek redesign."

When Drobe asked Michael why he decided to take up the role as acornuser.com webmaster, he had this to say: "I noticed that the site was not being updated very often and also the design didn't render as it should in browsers except for Fresco. This situation gave the appearence that Acorn User had died. I therefore contacted Tau Press and negotiated taking over the site.
"The current plan is to keep this version up to date. The general plan is to expand the site but agreements on this have not yet been reached with Tau Press."

To develop the site, Michael, who also manages the riscos.org.uk domain list amongst other forthcoming ventures, used Paint Shop Pro, Notepad, Netscape and IE under Windows as well as StrongED, (always a good choice -Chris), Photodesk, ChangeFSI and FTPc under RISC OS. The site was tested on popular Oregano and Fresco web browsers.
