Home accounts software released Published: 19th Sep 2007, 04:13:11 | Permalink | PrintableFreeware application in first stable download
After spending a year in development, Steve Fryatt's home accounts program was officially released last week. The first stable version of freeware application CashBook is now available for download.
According to Steve, CashBook can track money through any number of accounts, from banks and building societies to credit cards. Income and expenditure can be allocated to analysis headings, which can be used for budgeting or reporting. Transactions can be reconciled against statements, and the software offers real-time statement views. It also supports repeating transactions, such as standing orders, direct debits or salary payments, with a look-ahead facility to help avoid nasty surprises.
Various summaries can be printed out, and raw data can be exported for spreadsheets and other software packages, Steve said in his announcement.
He added: "Thank you to everyone who has taken part in the testing and provided feedback and suggestions for improvements."
The text-based and StrongHelp manuals have also been updated. A PDF copy of the documentation is available complete with screenshots and illustrations.
