Wakefield 2008 to be held in AprilPublished: 9th Nov 2007, 23:45:54 | Permalink | Printable
Get your paper and pen readyNext year's Wakefield RISC OS show, held in the north of England, is set to take place in April, drobe.co.uk understands. Event organisers at the Wakefield RISC OS Computer Club have reportedly pencilled in a date of Saturday April 26.
The show usually takes place in the month of May but a suitable venue has already been booked for April. In previous years, an athletics stadium in the Yorkshire city of Wakefield has hosted the show but 2007 saw a shift to a countryside conference hall. Next year's show will have to take place elsewhere as the building has been turned into an 'adult playhouse'. Plans for the 2008 event are said to be "in the fairly early stages."
This year's Wakefield show saw the unveiling of the RISC OS Open source code and the release of NetSurf 1.0.
