Merry Christmas from Drobe

By Chris Williams. Published: 25th Dec 2007, 16:33:59 | Permalink | Printable

And a happy new year!

baublesThe turkey's been eaten and we're waiting for our Christmas pudding to be served up with rich brandy sauce. Hic. So in the meantime allow us to wish every one of you a very merry Christmas and a happy new year. The past 12 months have been a blast, and it was made all the more better by your comments, forum posts and emails. Thanks to everyone who took the trouble to read our articles and participated in discussions.

Many thanks also to everyone who contributed to Drobe this year, from news tips and behind-the-scenes work to penning full feature articles. Thanks in particular go to writers David Llewellyn-Jones, Mike Carter, Nick Brown, Paul Stewart, Michael Reed, Mark Stephens, Martin Hansen, Martin Bazley and server master Ian Hawkins.

Our most popular article of the year was our coverage of Paul Stewart's DIY laptop project, which attracted interest from readers of mainstream IT news websites. The top five most read stories of the year, so far, are:

  1. A9home DIY laptop: first pictures
  2. South West show reports and photos
  3. ROX founder: Why I brought RISC OS to Unix
  4. Wakefield 2007 live news and photos
  5. Review: A9home v. Koolu

Don't forget to vote in this year's Best of 2007 awards. Drobe will return in the new year.

Indeed I'd echo that - Merry Christmas to you all.

Well now that Turkey Version 1.0 (Service Pack 1) has been consumed... time to once again look at Drobe.

To echo the article congrats to all contributors who make Drobe certainly one of the best sites on the Internet and a good portal for others to get a flavour or things RISC OS. I'd like to pay due credit also to Chris Williams I suspect it takes quite an amount of commitment and time to get Drobe as polished as it is (so Mr Williams in your own good time please take a bow !).

I hope everyone has a happy Christmas and a really good new year.

Yes, thanks to Chris and everyone else for running Drobe. It's a great advert for RISC OS, and something other minority platforms would love to have. Where would we be without it?

Merry Christmas to all!

Drobe is my daily dose of all things RISC OS. I'll break out in a cold sweat if I don't visit at least once a day.

Agree with all the above. Seasons Greetings and a Happy New Year to you all [hic]
