Event in April heads for its birthplaceThe Wakefield show is returning to its roots as this year's event will be hosted by the hotel where it first opened in 1996. Its organisers, the Wakefield RISC OS Computer Club, confirmed today the event will take place on Saturday, April 26 at the Ceder Court Hotel in Wakefield, which is where the first ever Wakefield show took place.
This year's event, sponsored by Advantage Six and MW Software, will include a show theatre, and companies and groups wishing to exhibit are asked to book stands as soon as possible.
Show co-organiser Chris Hughes said: "The 2007 show was held at the Mill House and Frobisher Suite by the Stanley Ferry Marina. Sadly that venue is no longer available because the owners have turned it into a 'wacky warehouse'.
"Thus we had to find a new home again for the show. After much searching we managed to find somewhere. The show is returning to where it all began back in 1996 at the Ceder Court Hotel, Wakefield, which is rather nice as it's also the club's 25th anniversary."
Entry costs a fiver. For more details, see the website link below.
