R-Comp update DialUp: Tweaks and improvements for the connectivity software

By Chris Williams. Published: 18th Mar 19:37:10 | Permalink | Printable

R-Comp's friendly internet tool, DialUp, has been updated to version 1.50, with the new release hopefully already in the hands of registered users. Drobe has reviewed the previous version of DialUp which you can read here. This version has seen many internal tweaks, fixes and improvements to the setup procedure with the aim to make connecting as easy as possible.

"DialUp is our highly acclaimed internet connection software, which makes getting online quick and easy", writes Andrew of R-Comp in the announcement. DialUp features include...

  • suport for industry standard .ins files. These are used by ISPs to get PCs connected to the internet by supplying the required connection details and protocols.
  • support for multiple internet and email accounts
  • Email/news "quickfetching" (where you connect, fetch and then neatly disconnect afterwards)

The latest version of the software includes scripts for many more Internet Providers (ISPs) "out of the box" both in the UK and overseas.
