I saw it confirmed in the local website for portsmouth. I am gutted, I only met him once but knew him more from e-mail exchanges. He was one of the most pleasant and helpful people I have ever met.

What a strange day it has been. First a worried posting from Louie on the csa google groups, then the unbelievable NEWS that his body had been found.

One of my memories will be of him joking with me as I took his photo at last November's Midlands show.

A very sad day. Martin

Ten minutes ago I was looking forward to going down to Webbington and meeting old friends and hoping to talk to Paul. I just saw the news on Archive-online and am in shock. Paul was the most positive advocate of RISC OS there ever was and we are going to miss him terribly.

Even at this distance Paul had assisted me and I'm shocked and saddened to hear the news of his death.

My condolences to his family (Louie et al) and to the whole RISC OS community. We have lost a true believer and are surely diminished by his passing.

Absolutely tragic! I have met Paul many times at shows and corresponded with him many, many times. Hew was a most helpful and talented person who will be sadly missed by his many fiends in the RISC OS community and beyond. My thought go to his family and friends and in particular to Louie.

This is truly both a shocking and saddening event.

I'd like to extend my condolences to Louie and his family at their time of loss. Paul's passing can't have been easy for them and I hope that they can, in time, recover from this tragic loss.

The measure of the man is alluded to in the responses here and on csa - his helpfulness and commitment contributed in no small way to the life of our platform and to the individual RISC OS users who came into contact with him in however peripheral a way.

He will indeed be missed.

I just logged onto Drobe, and initially couldn't believe the news. Now it's sunk in, it's a terrible loss to the community.

I had been in sporadic correspondence with him up until before Christmas. Still can't quite believe he's gone.

Do extend my condolences to Louie and his family. He will be sadly missed.

I didn't know Paul personally but I knew he was a Big Cheese in a (little) RISC OS world and I am very sad to hear of his death.

This is terribly sad news. Not having dropped in to Drobe for a week or so, I thought the Orpheus story was some sort of hoax or joke at first, before reading more and discovering the horrible truth.

My condolences to his family & loved ones. I'd only met Paul a few times, but I'd known him online for many years, from my first forays into comp.sys.acorn, I suspect approaching 2 decades ago. He was just 3yr older than me, too. I am stunned.
