Three freeware releasesPublished: 19th Sep 2001, 22:08:08 | Permalink | Printable
A board game, a filer patch and something for those with Windows keyboardsHere's some freeware that's recently been released that we thought we should share with you:
- Windows Keys
- Using a keyboard with the extra Windows keys? This a program by Steve Fryatt that will bind CLI commands (such as *filer_opendir) to these special keys. This means you can run programs, open directories etc. with a simple key press. A plugin for !Configure is provided to provide a friendly way of defining the keys.
- Filer Dir Patch
- Also by Steve Fryatt is a small module will create a directory with the name 'Directory' if you click Select on the 'New directory' menu item after clicking Menu over a filer window. Simple but effective, especially if you're using a pre RISC OS 4 computer.
"...I've been using it for a while and felt it might as well be available to anyone else who wanted it", notes Steve in his announcement. "It seems that RISCOS Ltd are thinking the same way, as Select [RISC OS 4.2+] will apparently contain a better version of this".
- Risk (you know, that board game)
- Risk is a board game that I always lose and one that reveals which of my friends is the most devious. It's always the quiet one. Available from the above link are three RISC OS editions of the popular war strategy game. You can also find the Acorn PC software emulator information page from the above site too.
