riscos.org.uk email headachePublished: 26th Sep 2001, 21:52:24 | Permalink | Printable
Tried to contact free RISC OS subdomains provider riscos.org.uk recently?drobe.co.uk has today learnt that domain provider riscos.org.uk has been suffering administration problems with its email. The warning lights started flashing after riscos.org.uk user Ian Macfarlane noticed a problem with email being addressed to riscos.org.uk. drobe.co.uk has been assured that everything has been fixed now, although you are asked to use a new address to contact riscos.org.uk.
"Once again, I am apologising for the lack of response to email that may have been sent to firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com", a concerned Mike Stubbs of riscos.org.uk explained to drobe. "I don't know why, but the 'catch all' facility has just ceased to work. I was not aware of this - the problem I fixed was on my RiscPC."
All enquiries and requests for a riscos.org.uk domain should now be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. riscos.org.uk is a free service provided to RISC OS software developers and user groups. You can request a subdomain such as mysoftware.riscos.org.uk or ourusergroup.riscos.org.uk. This memorable URL can then point to some web space containing web pages about your software or user group. Also as more and more people sign up to riscos.org.uk, a comprehensive catalogue of software and user groups is gradually built up. At least that's the plan anyway. It wont be long before drobe requests a drobefans.riscos.org.uk.
