Completed and available online: RISC OS 4.24

Select coverage on drobe.co.uk

RISC OS Select, the next release of RISC OS, is available now online for subscribers.

Finally, it's arrived, the start of the Select scheme is ready to be delivered to subscribers' doormats. Drobe.co.uk can report that a lot of time and effort has been poured into the first release of Select by the Select developers and we're very pleased to see it go public.

Update

Due to the massive demand on the ricos.com servers, a new server is being setup for later this month and will be dedicated to RISC OS Select usage. An application to resume fetching partially downloaded files is also expected to be released shortly to Select subscribers.

To be continued..

And they still don't do anything about the ugly design, selling involves more then a good product as is been proven in the past by acorn

They should get you to do the design, Maarten! I've seen your work - it's excellent! I do have to agree, though.. RISC OS Ltd. haven't got the best ideas in design. The cog has a nice story to it (on the Select website), but it still doesn't look that good...

Yes, indeed, let's give the RISC OS Select code a massive happy birthday. After all most of it is two years old. So out of nappies, no more tinny tantrums, and if you are silly enough to subscribe to "up to 3 CDs" i.e. one CD, then may your money halp pay off the RISC OS Ltd overdraft (personally guaranteed by Mr P. Urwin Middleton)
