BETT you've been wanting to hear thisPublished: 24th Jan 2002, 19:53:07 | Permalink | Printable
Lucky old iconbar.com gets a BETT article so we'll say a few words about RISC OS'Rival' news site iconbar.com have had the pleasure of being sent a BETT 2002 show report, one which we thought you might like to read. BETT, by the way, is the all important education'n'computer show that's in every IT teachers' calendar.

Why do we think you're interested? Well given the commotion arising from Peter Naulls' recent call for a more positive attitude from RISC OS users, we felt you might need cheering up by reading how the rest of the educational world sees RISC OS and where it stands in comparasion with other platforms. Obviously comparing RISC OS to other more mainstream OSes is a bit daft and like comparing London's Big Ben to a wrist watch; there's a time and place for everything. drobe.co.uk agrees with Peter though, RISC OS needs software as bad as it does hardware and given the chances of RISC OS hardware progressing into the 3rd millennium, new software is vital. Some people need to remember why they're using RISC OS and they should try to be apart of the userbase rather than taking apart the userbase. Incidentally, if the editors get time before the end of the week, drobe.co.uk is hoping to publish a page of links to resources useful to anyone who wants to develop software for RISC OS- send any suggestions this way.
