Exciting ADSL packages releasedBy Chris Williams. Published: 29th Apr 2002, 21:35:47 | Permalink | Printable
Like buses, nothing then two come alongTalk about being spoilt for choice. Thanks to R-Comp and CJE -each of whom are producing separate solutions-, you can now get ADSL for your RISC OS machine and experience high speed internet access.
"This unit provides ADSL modem capability and also allows 4 computers to be hooked into it at 10 or 100Mbit speeds, allowing the box to form the centre of your home network", reads the R-Comp announcement. "By including the ADSL modem functionality in the box, it saves you the cost of needing to purchase this from your ADSL supplier, allowing you to take advantage of the cheaper self-install options available."
R-Comp advise you to call them on 01925 755043 for more information so they can deliver a product that suits you.
Not to be outdone, CJE have been hyping their 'ADSL in a box' solution. As their statement reads:
"CJE will supply everything you need to connect to the Internet by ADSL, with full instructions and up to an hour of technical support. The ADSL pack is compatible with either a stand alone RISC OS computer or a network. The network can consist of solely RISC OS computers or may include PCs."
This editor has been enjoying the benifits of high speed net access, via a university network, and you would not believe how fast Oregano performs on such a connection.
