RISC OS does other news sites

Like ham and fresh crisp salad, we're on a roll (Updated)

We were a bit reluctant to post this news article, as it might seem that we were desparate for news. Anyway, we were quite excited by the news that Slashdot and OS News both carried news items relating to the release of Select CD 1 and RISC OS 4.29. If you don't know what Slashdot and OSNews are then just get the hell out.

It's great that someone outside the RISC OS community spotted the release and given our recent article on RISC OS getting a mention in the US press, it seems we're on a roll. Kinda.

Footnote
Drobe.co.uk was informed last night that it was in fact iconbar.com forum regular MarcoF that posted the Slashdot.org article. Three cheers to him.

Since I posted the article on osnews.com a number of people have asked me where to get hold of a RISC OS computer :-) I've shown a couple of them my RISCPC and they were impressed.

Readers of New Zealand PC World (readship 153,000) will hopefully get to hear about it soon too. I'll keep you posted...I wonder if anyone who is attempting to make a dollar from RISC OS has bother to email a press release to non-RISC OS, IT, Graphics and Education oriented publications. I doesn't take long and you might be surprised how easy it is to get them to print something (I've done this for my work on several occasions with success).

Quick lets get the word out that everyone can see RISC OS in action at Wakefield.

Cheers -- Steve Knutson

It amazes me that indeed people from ROL or other ROS companies do not actively promote their own products.. Luckily, here in the Netherlands, we have now a place in a big computer magazine.. only 1 or 2 pages, but that's better than nothing. ROL, Castle, MD, RS, Cerilica, Photodesk need to get of their arses and invest a couple of hours each month to email magazines/ezines about their product.. see what we did.. Steve at OSNews, me at /. .. it's all so easy.. and if you never try you'll never gain *anything* -- Marco Frissen,
