The RISC OS Academy teaches you all a lesson in RISC OS and programmingNot all RISC OS users may be aware that RISC OS is blessed with a built-in BASIC interpretter, enabling you to write software for your computer with no extra tools. BASIC is a very friendly programming language and can be used to write simple programs to full scale desktop applications. If RISC OS needs something other than newer hardware, it's more users capable of writing software.
Therefore, drobe.co.uk is delighted to learn of Paul Vigay's RISC OS Academy, a subscription based scheme that intends to put users on the fast track to becoming RISC OS programmers. Also, don't forget that by learning to program on RISC OS, you can gain a greater understanding of how your favourite OS works.
"The RISC OS Academy has been created in order for people to learn programming skills on a variety of topics and at a choice of different levels", Paul explains in his press release. "Running a bit like a correspondence course, people can learn at their own speed and in their own time, with a complete set of internet based resources to help them - clearly written tutorial articles, program examples, possible problems worked through and even full applications."
