Web browser Netsurf in action

Us, hype? Never, not us. No.

Netsurf is an ambitious and seemingly long term opensource project to develop a web browser for RISC OS from scratch, with the hope that it'll support all the latest web standards like CSS and so forth. drobe.co.uk recently learnt that the browser can now fetch pages from the internet and follow links, so it's slowly coming together. We asked for some screenshots but were told that the application is still in its early stages so we initially held off publishing this article. However, we were sent a NetSurf binary and a screenshot anyway, so now you the lucky reader get to read, sorry see, all about it.

The screenshot of Netsurf sent to us by the developers

And now a screenshot of Netsurf running on this editor's RiscPC

The development team insist that Netsurf is a long way off but this looks like a good start.
