RISC OS kit of the t-shirt kind

By Chris Williams. Published: 12th Nov 2002, 03:57:22 | Permalink | Printable

Alert. Sobering "softwear" puns detected.

Send us a press release. If it's about RISC OS then we'll publish it. We might poke a little fun at you, we might instead dish out some creamy bowls of praise, we may alternatively ask for some pizza. Whoever said life was fair? Joking aside for a mere second, you probably ought to know that last night Young Enterprise branch Sober got in contact with drobe.co.uk (and quick-off-the-mark-for-a-change-iconbar.com) to tell us about their new RISC OS t-shirt product line.

"Sober are pleased to announce Acorn/RISC OS T-Shirts", states company director Andy Duffell in the Sober press release. "For as little as 5.99 GBP you could be the proud wearer of our quality soft-wear. You can either use our pre-made design (see website) or send us your own design and we will produce it."

It must be t-shirt season or something in RISC OS land, despite an impending cold winter, typical of the UK. It's also worth pointing out that Sober do non-RISC OS t-shirts, just so you know, and you can get full pricing and contact/ordering details from here. Now you have no excuse, everyone should have some kind of RISC OS clothing in time for the Midlands show.

Sober website (note: the intro crashes Oregano every now and again, so you may want to skip the intro)

I dunno why the intro occasionally crashes in Oregano :( I blame Oregano :P

Unless it has been changed recently, the site also fails with Browse. My advice is, if you are a PC user then this is your chance to buy some RISC OS stuff. -- Spriteman.

Site works fine with: Oregano 1.10+ Mozilla IE NetScape

It works but not with all features with:

Fresco 2.13+

I have not tested it with any other browsers, but if they support HTML3.2+ and JavaScript it should work fine. If without javascript the site is still usable (only the fade in intro and t-shirt designer won't work)

Hope Sober's school knows he's operating a sweat shop on school grounds. ;-)

We are only putting in 50p each because it means we will get the same share back as if we put in 10.00 each. We don't have a problem with startup finance due to the fact we are holding a talent-contest at school/sixthform.

I would suggest that if you are making a website for risc os people you make sure that it works fully or degrades gracfully on:

Oregano Fresco WXL Browse

It'd be bonkers not to.

I get the feeling it was designed by someone not familiar with RISC OS.
