DeskLib 2.40 signs up to 32bit By Chris Williams. Published: 18th Nov 2002, 04:05:37 | Permalink | PrintableOver seven years since previous release of the C programming toolkit library Desklib is a library for RISC OS C programmers and aims to provide a structured and friendly interface to the RISC OS window manager and OS routines. It's like a library for desktop applications, or simply, a desktop library. A DeskLib in fact. Cunning, no?
The last release, as far as we can tell, was in September 1995. Recently however, Peter Naulls and his merry band of contributors have picked up Desklib and continued to improve it. It's their intention to make it the best modern library for C programmers as well as developing support for the Nested Wimp among other features.
"This is a 32-bit release, suitable for use with both Norcroft and GCC 32-bit versions", explains Peter in an email to drobe.co.uk. "Apart from the 32-bit updates, there are various improvements, such as improved use of C typing, and various other minor additions and bug fixes."
