Software news By Chris Williams. Published: 13th Mar 2003, 22:26:41 | Permalink | PrintableFreeware updates and other bits [Updated 13:15 14/3/2003] It's been all quiet on the drobe.co.uk front but in the desert of silence we've found our oasis of news and other cliches. So before you thought we were going to go un-updated Cybervillage-style, let's start with software news.
Freeware news
Jan-Jaap van der Geer has emailed us to say he's once again updated his DirSync software, available here. DirSync is a handy util that lets you visually compare two directories for file differences.
Bruno D'Arcangeli has 32 bitted golden oldies FastSpr, TrackerModule and msgUpdate as well as a little silly especially for Iyonix users, all available here. Simon Melhuish has updated his weather station software Oww (not like 'it burns my eyes') to version 0.68.8 which features improved log timing and a heat index. John "Viewfinder" Kortink, our bestest pal honest, has updated ZeriLink, the parallel port file transfer utility, to version 2.43. Hot on the heels from the mighty version 1.00 release, Harriet "Sister of Chris" Bazley has updated her DDF2Html software which converts Impression DTP documents into HTML, frightening as it may sound. Malcolm Ripley has been bug hunting in his extensive image gallery app Thumbcat. And then we finally drown in Midiway's tidal wave of software updates to Verma, Swish, Historian, Syncopath, Mixer and Midiphile - lots of software for you to play with.
In other news (updated)
We've been reminded by iconbar.com's moss that Micro-'We're making an Omega, don't you know?'-digital are trekking across Germany this weekend, more details also from here. We've also been promised yet more pictures of the elusive Omega being demonstrated from Jules Zimmerle of the German Arche Acorn user group who'll be overseeing the Soest event on Saturday.
And furthermore, it's been whispered to us that the WROCC have been taking the depressingly low myriscos.co.uk Wakefield show poll count too seriously; more details later we hope but for God's sake, just make sure you all turn up to the Wakefield 2003 event.
