Family Tree Software: Alex Waugh explains..

By Chris Williams. Published: 10th Oct 13:30:11 | Permalink | Printable

Some time ago, Alex Waugh posted to the rat race that is usenet information on his updated family tree application. Aimed at those with historical interest, it's not everyday a specialist application like this turns up.

Alex Waugh, a fellow electronic designer, was kind enough to explain to us:
'Roots is a program for graphically laying out a family tree. You move people around and link them using drag and drop. It can also store a
small amount of information about each person, but that is not its main function. It can import GEDCOM, and export DrawFiles and GEDCOM.
Trees can be printed, spanning several pages if necessary.
It has been designed to be flexible, so if the style of layout is not to
your taste then you can alter it.'
