MW Software clarifies AW 2 benchmarks

If we could make one thing perfectly clear, we would

Update Yesterday we published news of an initial speed benchmark of graphics package Artworks 2 running on an XScale powered Iyonix, handed to us by MW Software and note this is using the term 'benchmark' in the lightest possible sense - it's more an insight into what the Artworks 2 on Iyonix combination will bring to RISC OS graphics artists.

After the third update this week from Martin Wuerthner at MW Software, we're beginning to worry that Martin's losing sleep over some possible confusion arising from the benchmark announcement.

"I would like point out that the reported five-fold speed-up was observed when rendering Henk Huinen's illustration to a 1280 by 1024 pixel screen mode with 16 million colours", Martin emphasises in an email today. "Rendering less complex files or rendering at a lower screen resolution is unlikely to show such a high speed increase."

Relax Martin, it's safe. You can read the full clarification here.
