Clares classics relaunchedBy Chris Williams. Published: 17th Apr 2003, 20:42:10 | Permalink | Printable
ProAction at the helmIsn't this a coincidence? R-Comp relaunch DataPower 2 (a resurrected Iota database app) and the very next day APDL's software arm, ProAction, start waving ex-Clares RISC OS software about too.
Titles that ProAction absorbed late last year, namely ProArtisan 24, Topographer, Spooler and Schema 2, have been dusted off, rebadged and are now on sale from APDL we're told. If you don't already know these golden oldies, here's what they are:
|ProArtisan 24||Acorn User award winning bitmap graphics package|
|Topographer||Geography based educational app with an emphasis on maps|
|Spooler||Background printer buffer and queue|
|Schema 2||A spreadsheet app. A macro manual is being put together - don't over do yourselves lads|
Stop press Astronomy package NightSky has also been added to the list of new ProAction owned software.
Drop APDL a line if you're interested. While support for classic titles is all well and good, one assumes ProAction are wisely investing cash from these sales to fund development for new and up to date software for RISC OS users and the same goes for R-Comp too. You know it's panic time when publishers start fighting over a re-release of the View ROM.
