Acorn user news, CJE online, hot ROM images and moreNews bits you might like to know about. Good day.
Surveying the acorns
Acorn User have posted an online survey that they'd like you all to complete and submit as they're very keen to find out what you lot think of their magazine. Acorn User editor "Rob Donaldson" has also today been touting the forthcoming May issue highlights.
After announcing last week that they were experiencing DNS problems with their website, CJE Micros have informed us today that they are in fact now back online, you can find them at the usual cjemicros.co.uk address.
"Excellent" graphing app re-released
Dr Peter Killworth emailed us this week to say he's re-released Tim Birks' top graph-plotting app Tau (now under the GPL). "Tau is designed to produce publishable quality graphs first time", writes Peter, "and yet is infinitely adaptable by the use of style files". A data worksheet can be filled by typing in values, importing from a file and/or applying a calculation. You can then determine line patterns and thicknesses, colours, text positioning and font sizes, etc. Peter has provided Tau in a PackDir archive, you can alternatively download version 1.30 as a plain zip file from here.
Wave to the music
Carlos Michael Santillan has released MP3ToWave, a Perl script that uses AmpApp to convert MP3 audio files to raw audio Wave files. A FrontEnder script is also provided.
Finally, Richard Hall has been busy ripping apart Acorn hardware so you don't have to and we also fear Jason Tribbeck has lost the plot - R1sK0S w4R3Z0r!!1! R4r3!
