GCC website back onlineBy Chris Williams. Published: 16th Jul 2003, 16:40:21 | Permalink | Printable
Server bounces back from outageUsers of the GCC for RISC OS will be happy to know that the hard-mofo.dsvr.net web server is back up and running after an unexpected long term outage. The web server in question hosts the GCCSDK and other files related to the freely available C/C++ compiler package.
"The problem was caused by a miscompilation of the Name Service Switch resolver library. It took a while to track down, especially as reverting the software upgrade didn't fix the issue", project maintainer Nick Burrett explained in simple terms on the mailing list for RISC OS GCC users.
Developers using GCC on RISC OS are encouraged to join the mailing list to stay informed of developments and news.
