Select 3i3 quickly follows 3i2By Chris Williams. Published: 18th Sep 2003, 15:34:12 | Permalink | Printable
Ladies and gentlemen, start your softloaders [Updated]A few readers have spotted that RISC OS Select 3i3 is now available online in the subscribers only download area. Due the SmartGroups downtime, users on the Select mailing list may not be notified of the Select 3i3 release until the end of the week. Select 3i2 was released just over a week ago.
The Select 3i3 online release so far consists of a new ROM image of RISC OS 4.37 (Kernel 6.52) and what looks like the result of a bug fixing exercise. According to the ROM image changelog, a palette bug in ColourTrans has been addressed (which in turn fixes a fault in !Paint's font painting tool) and the ConvertPNG, DCS_Quit, SpriteExtend, Zipper and ZLib components have been updated.
This week's ROM image release isn't exactly a major release and as RISCOS Ltd. will be homing in on a forthcoming stable CD release, fixing bugs and freezing features is a priority.
Update (15:52 19/9/2003)
RISCOS Ltd. have told us that they're now closed for a two week holiday and that Select 3 CDs are in the post as of today.
