EasyFont Pro, DrawWorks SE now 32bitBy Ian Chamberlain. Published: 12th Oct 2003, 23:13:22 | Permalink | Printable
APDL gets the hang of this 32bit thingBack in August, we were pleased to report of APDL's decision to start a programme which woul d see more of their large catalogue of software 32bitted to work on new computers like the Iyonix. A week before the South East Show (which, by the way, is this Saturday, the 18th), APDL has announced some promising news.
EasyFont Pro, produced under the iSV Products label, is a popular application for managing fonts. According to their website, "EasyFont Pro makes handling fonts a doddle. Simply click to turn fonts on or off. Not sure which fonts are used in a file? Simply drop the file into EasyFont and it will find the fonts used and turn them on itself". The new version, which has been fully tested on the Iyonix, also comes with 2,400 "professional fonts" and is apparently packaged in a DVD case along with a printed manual.
At the show, APDL will also have version 4.10 of DrawWorks Select for sale. This is the full commercial version of DrawWorks and it is claimed that this latest release "has a number of improvements" - we're sure you can ask about them at the show.
Although APDL offered few clues as to when we might expect an Iyonix compatible version, we can perhaps be more optimistic in light of news about the free version. Users of DrawWorks SE (a free-to-all cut-down edition of DW Select) can, we're informed, download a 32bit neutral version from the iSV website. At least one user, however, has revealed that the 32bit version isn't actually 32bit compatible.
Keep it coming, APDL.
