Acorn C/C++ gets bugs fixed, new SharedCLibrary

Castle have today issued a new release of the 32bit Norcroft C/C++ compiler package and a new version of the 32bit compatible SharedCLibrary. The updated tools are available online to developers with copies of the Castle badged compiler package.

"Just a short note to tell you that the next release of Castle's Norcroft C compiler, version 5.54, is now available in the usual way to owners of the AcornC/C++ tools suite from Castle, together with updated libraries and other goodies", Castle's John Ballance states in this evening's announcement.

As the SharedCLibrary has changed with this compiler package release, users of software built with Castle's SCL stubs will have to upgrade their !System directories as developers take advantage of new features introduced.

Version 5.54 of the compiler package contains various fixes and updates including lots of new maths functions in math.h, and the addition of __assert2() and _Exit().

As well as updates to the compiler tools, a new Unicode library is included which supports UTF-8 and the Japanese language. The documentation for this new library is also online.
