tofla moves to iconbar.comBy Chris Williams. Published: 3rd Jan 2004, 14:20:49 | Permalink | Printable
Coders' retreat expandsThe tofla website, a free and growing online library of articles and information for RISC OS programmers, has packed its bags and relocated to tofla.iconbar.com, thus joining the NoughtPointOne empire of websites.
The tofla site was launched in July last year by Kris Adcock, who is alledgedly a 'DARC heckler' and initially went under the Futurama inspired alias of Morbo Jones. The name 'tofla' comes from the text in a garbled message usually displayed by confused applications that try to read from the start of logical memory. The site now boasts over 150 articles, all of them sourced from Archive, Acorn User (sorry, Qercus), usenet and elsewhere.
"I'm just someone who wants to turn a bit of spare time into something useful for the community. I think RISC OS will die pretty quick if people stop developing for it, whether that's PD or commercial stuff", Kris told drobe.co.uk this weekend. Developers are, of course, encouraged to contribute to the digital archive.
tofla website - Oregano 1 users who get stuck on the site's frontpage can get in through this working link.
