"Homebrew Acorn Nuts" By Chris Williams. Published: 12th Jan 2004, 23:38:25 | Permalink | PrintableExpress your love for RISC OS with art Letter Don't ever accuse us of not having a sense of humour, of not doing things differently and, worse of all, not having the greatest readers possible. Crashing head first into our inbox this evening is the following letter, showing quite a strong love for fine woodcraft and a company that royally screwed us over oh so many years ago. We're not bitter, God no. Now where's our t-shirt that reads, "I supported Acorn all these years, and all I got was this lousy corporate break up"..
As to Wes' question, we believe Acorn father Herman Hauser holds the Acorn logo rights, although he's pretty approachable about it. Any sales enquiries will be forwarded onto Wes. Enjoy, as we did, a great piece of work.

Subject: Homebrew Acorn Nuts...
Hiya,
I've recently been given as a present, a large wooden acorn nut from my partner. As he knew I liked the platform so much, he thought it was a fitting present, and as he did such a good job, I thought you guys would like to see it as well. Neatly turned out and then stained green and mounted on a wooden base. The nut itself is made (of course) from oak and the base from maple with a perspex disc in the middle of the acorn to give the little gap.
It's one of those things that I thought drobe might like to cover, bit like lego acorn cases and other oddities.
We were thinking about making a small batch of them and possibly selling them, however we were worried about copyright issues. Don't suppose you know who owns the rights to the acorn nut device, and is it OK for these "artistic impressions" to be produced???
Cheers
Wes (Moo-Juice)
And enclosed..
