Expo logoThe Dutch usergroup Big Ben Club has released initial details of its RISC OS Expo 2004 show. As usual, the event will be held in the Netherlands with this year's on Saturday June 19th. The venue will be the Hotel Mercure, located near the city of Utrecht.

"The Show offers exhibitions and promotions by various companies, including Dutch, German and British Acorn dealers and demonstrations by club members", event organiser Matt Hendriks explained. The Expo shows are described as the European mainland version of the WROCC's Wakefield shows.

"Visitors are members and non-members from Holland, Belgium and Germany, etc. Again, there will be the theatre next to the Expohall for demonstration purposes."

Recalling back to last year, the Expo attracted the likes of Castle, RISCOS Ltd., R-Comp, MW Software and oh yes, MicroDigital.

I'm glad this show still exists since it's too expensive to go to a show in the UK for most users on the Continent - especially since the big Acorn World lasting 3 days and easy to reach are no more. Going to RISC OS Expo can be done by car and is thus quite a bit cheaper than hopping accross the Channel.

RISC OS Expo 2004 is on my calendar already.

Well going to the Expo from the UK we can appreciate what its like for the continental RISC OS users to visit our shows. But I really enjoyed taking 3 or 4 days to drive over to Holland, and back the scenic way. Would love to do it this year in my new RX8, but unfortunately I'm using all my holidays in Australia. So it will have to be a fly in and out on the day like last year.

Cheers ---Dave
