RISC OS emulation for the uninitiatedBy Chris Williams. Published: 26th Feb 2004, 13:03:57 | Permalink | Printable
RISC what? The jolly, busy people at OSNews.com have this morning pointed us in the direction of their article titled Emulating RISC OS under Windows. The article is sufficiently detailed and serves an interesting viewpoint from someone who isn't necessarily a regular RISC OS user and has tip-toed along the path of emulation to get a better glimpse at our curious platform.
"One of the most impressive aspects of even relatively modest PC hardware is its ability to emulate a wide range of other platforms. Being a bit of an OS junkie myself, and lacking the space for a full computer room of weird and wonderful hardware, I emulate a range of systems from my humble desktop PC", writes Mark Rounder.
"In this article, I will describe the procedure through which you can run RISC OS 3.7 and others on a Windows-based PC and experience this classic OS (screenshots included)."
Classic, indeed. For an inside view of someone outside looking inside from a mainstream news site, click the link below.
