Iyonix users have until the end of April to purchase a hard disc with Debian GNU/Linux installed from Peter Naulls. Peter first offered pre-installed hard discs in January last year, and each 80G disc is set up to be plugged into an Iyonix and used with minimal configuration required. This allows users to avoid the headache of partitioning and installing ARM GNU/Linux by hand.
"Although my product, 'Iyonix Linux preinstalled on harddrive' has been moderately popular, I believe most of the people interested in this product have now purchased one," said Peter in a statement issued yesterday.
"I will therefore cease to offer this product from April 30th 2005, and you will need to contact me before then if you wish to order one.
The pre-installed hard discs include version 2.4.22 of the popular open source Linux kernel.
