Why aye man

A new RISC OS road show planned for October later this year will visit Glasgow and Newcastle. RISCOS Ltd say they are organising a two day trip to the mean streets of Glasgow and Newcastle, famous for Byker Grove and Alan Shearer. And RISC OS punters visiting the shows could rub shoulders with the city's football fans.

RISCOS Ltd boss Paul Middleton suggested holding the roadshow at the footie stadiums in each of the cities.

He said: "Regrettably it was not possible to find suitable venues north of Manchester for the Christmas Roadshow 2005, but we intend to remedy this for 2006.

"The plan is for the Roadshow to hit Glasgow on Wednesday October 18, followed by Newcastle on Thursday October 19. The Roadshow will then finish at the Guildford Show on Saturday October 21. Local suggestions for venues are welcomed, but tentative venues have been set as Glasgow Rangers Football Ground and Newcastle United Football Ground."

Users living in the north of the UK often feel somewhat left out during the annual calendar of shows and events, which take place in more southerly locations, such as Guildford and Wakefield.

ROL have invited all hardware and software companies in the platform to attend, with hall booking fees dependent on the amount of interest shown by other businesses. RISCOS Ltd have previously organised whistle-stop road show tours around Christmas time last year and on the European mainland.

drobe.co.uk broke the news of the Guildford date on Monday.
