DRU-R100 owners get choice of two drivers

A USB radioSimtec USB users now have a greater choice of USB radio drivers as Dave Higton has ported his DRU-R100 software to the Simtec stack. His driver was previously available only for Castle USB users.

Dave said: "This means that users of RiscPCs with a Simtec Unipod or USB podule have a choice of Simtec's application or mine to control a D-Link DRU-R100 radio."

A driver for the discontinued USB radio gadget already exists for the Simtec USB, written by Simtec themselves. The AdvantageSix A9home uses the Simtec USB solution, incidentally.

Dave added: "I have also added proper links to an archive of remote control example and test programs so that interested users can experiment with using other applications to tune and turn on/off their DRU-R100 and/or AVerMedia USB FM radios.

"One obvious application is to permit recording of several radio programmes at different times and on different stations. The !DRU R100 and !AVerMedia applications can be remotely controlled simultaneously without interfering with each other."

Dave also produced earlier this year a driver for the AVerMedia USB FM radio for both the Simtec and Castle USB solutions.
