An early version of Jason Tribbeck's 3D space dog fight game is available for download. The cross-platform shoot'em up is described as being like 'Elite without the trading' and 'Starship Command in 3D' - or like Magnetoids, except the targets tend to fire back at you.
Called ACED, it's another project on Jason's todo list after he had to abandon ArcCommand due to legal reasons. His other space game Equinox is still being worked on.
Jason said: "I've made a very work in progress version of ACED available for RISC OS. There are bugs in this, and to be honest, I'm not interested in them, so if you find any, please don't tell me.
"I know it sounds odd, but I don't want to have lots of emails from people telling me the same thing over and over again. So why am I releasing it? Mainly so you can have a look to see how it plays."
The download is suitable for StrongARM RiscPC users, possibly Iyonix users too, although A9home users will have to wait until RISCOS Ltd release a C99 compatible StubsG.
If the game doesn't start, then a recommended fix is to edit the application's !Run file and remove or comment out the line:
